🚗 Just Another Day on the Road (Real Estate Edition)
There are a lot of miles between listings, showings, and closings... and if you’ve ever spent a day in the life of a Realtor, you know those miles come with stories.
Some days it’s a sprint through yellow lights. Other days, it’s the slow crawl of 5 p.m. traffic, the kind that has you reconsidering all your life choices until you pull into a coffee shop for a much needed pick-me-up. ☕
But today? Today takes the cake… or should I say, the pizza. 🍕
After showing new homes to a client this morning, I picked up a little souvenir on the way, a shiny nail in my tire. No worries, though! I swung by Costco, where the tire wait was only two hours (a small miracle, really). So I cracked open my laptop, ordered a $1.99 slice of pizza, and turned that wait time into a work session. Because when you love what you do, you don’t skip a beat you just add marinara.
Fast forward a few hours and several miles later: I’m across town checking on another client, and on my way home, I see it, an old pickup truck stopped dead in the middle of the road. Behind the wheel was an equally vintage gentleman, clearly distressed.
Cars honked. People swerved. And everyone kept driving past like it was someone else’s problem.
Well, not today. Not on my watch.
I threw my car in park, hopped out (in a skirt and heels, no less), and decided to channel my inner superhero. 🚀 I leaned in to help him push the truck out of the street but before I could say, “Hang tight,” he jumped back into the cab and closed the door, leaving me solo on the asphalt, pushing this old truck like a one woman pit crew.
Just when I started questioning my life choices (and my footwear), two kind souls appeared out of nowhere to help. Together, we got that truck safely to the side of the road. And as I caught my breath, hair a mess, and heels slightly scuffed, I couldn’t help but laugh.
Because sometimes, doing the right thing looks a little ridiculous but it always feels just right.
So here’s to good coffee, flat tires that don’t flatten your spirit, and the occasional reminder that a little civic duty (and a lot of humor) can turn an ordinary day on the road into something worth writing about.
